Ultimate Ideas to Relax & Recharge
What is a Self-Care Sunday?
A self-care Sunday isn’t about extravagance or elaborate plans. It’s simply a day to prioritise taking care of yourself. While Sunday is ideal for many, feel free to choose any day that works best for you. The goal is to refresh, rejuvenate, and prepare for the week ahead. I tend to do my self-care on Sunday afternoon, so that I am feeling re-charged and refresh for the week ahead, but it is completely your choice as to when you feel the best time is.
Signs You Need More Self-Care
Generally, if you are feeling off or not at your best, It might be a sign that you need more self-care. Just as we recharge our phones and fill our cars, we must refuel our minds and bodies to function optimally, otherwise you feel low, almost like a sudden sugar crash.
Self-Care Sunday Ideas: Mind, Body, & Soul
Here are some of my self-care Sunday ideas & suggestions. Whether you have 20 minutes or most of the day, you’ll be able to implement at least a few which will ultimately make you feel better.
For the mind:
Start a Meditation Practice: Find a quiet spot and meditate to calm your mind. There are many mindful apps & meditation videos online, that will be able to guide you through.
Read an Inspiring Book: Get lost in a good read that uplifts your spirit or if you don’t have a lot of time to read, listen to a book on audible. Either will create that much needed time for yourself.
Journal Your Thoughts: Reflecting on your week and setting your intentions is super quick but incredibly effective. You’ll be amazed at how much better you will sleep after journalling. It is a must for me!
For the body:
Take a Walk: Get out and take a walk in nature is great for the soul. It doesn’t need to be a long walk, but enough to get you moving.
Enjoy a Warm Bath: This is another one of my favourites! A warm bath with Epsom salts or essential oils is an absolute must for relaxation. You could combine the meditation!
Cook a Nourishing Meal: I don’t know about you, but if I eat something healthy and nutritious, it makes my whole body feel better. Try and prepare something healthy and delicious for either your lunch or evening meal. This will also help with your sleep.
For the Soul:
Listen to Soothing Music: I am someone who is constantly listening to music. Music is pretty much the only thing that can instantly change my mood and calm me. It’s my happy place! Let the melodies calm your soul.
Connect with Loved Ones: This is a super important one. Touching base with a loved one or friend automatically makes you feel better, so try and find time to pick up the phone.
Remember, self-care isn’t selfish; it’s essential. I’ve given you a few of my favourites and ones that I use on a regular basis. Choose what resonates with you and make self-care a regular part of your routine
